Falsification among athletes in Nigeria is a popular affair. They tend to reduce ages so as to get a chance to compete in sporting games. Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has been advised to find lasting solution to the issue of age falsification among athletes in the country.
The chairman of Kano state sport commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima gave this advice at the on going third edition of national youth games in University of Ilorin.
Alhaji Galadima said there were a lot of complains about over aged athletes competing at the Event and if this persist , the objectives of the game could be defeated.
He also urged the Organizer to be transparent and ensure that only eligible athletes are allowed to compete in the game.
Correspondents Sodiq Adebara reports that as at the time of filling this report Delta state is leading the table with twenty-one medals at the on going third edition of national youth games follow by Ondo fifteen medals and Akwa Ibom and Kano states tight up with ten medals.
