For “Mays Chills”, venturing into making smoothies wasn’t directly the offshoot of a business plan. As a banker, I was very bored with my job as most bankers, and had been restless for some time while seeking God’s guidance on a more fulfilling and also profitable venture.
A possible option would be to resign and go look for work somewhere else but we all know the state of the economy with attendant job losses across different sectors.
When that ended and seeing the tremendous benefits of increased energy levels, weight loss, and over all improved health, I started making different healthy based smoothies which I replaced my breakfast and dinner with.
With this, I lost 10 kg in just 2 months (March to May, 2016). Colleagues and friends noticed the difference and started asking for the smoothies and then, it clicked that I could start this as the business I had been looking for.
Being that I have always been a good host having friends and family over at every opportunity in my home to entertain them with one of my new recipes and because of my culinary skills, I always knew I’d venture into the hospitality business but never knew it would be this soon.
I took my annual leave from work within this period to undergo a short training in Cocktails, Fresh Juices & Smoothie making and learnt a lot about fruits and nutrition.
The decision to officially start producing my 100% raw organic smoothies and fruit juices which would taste great and help promote healthy living, while also supplying our exotic cocktails at parties came to life…
August 1st, 2016. Mays Chills was officially launched!
